Long-time back mankind was not able to understand certain data present in the holy Qur’an due to insufficient scientific knowledge.
But today due to enhancement in proficiency all verses of holy Qur’an’s natural citing are being drafted in almost any language.
Sun & Moon
We’ve have been seeing the behaviour of Sun and Moon since our birth in this world. Qur’an refers to these natural piece as light (noor) for the moon and lamp (siraaj) for the sun. Also Qur’an states as below,
“Did you see how Allah created seven heavens, one above the other, and made in them the moon a light and the sun a lamp?” Qur’an, 78:12-13
This verse stated thousands of years ago clearly mentions that Moon is a dormant body that reflects light, and Sun is a heavenly body is at a state of combustion that generates both light and heat
Despite all these hindrance true way to understand Islam is to investigate every situation correlating with Islamic standards & reliable sources.
The Stars & Planets
The Qur’an refers with clear adjective to Stars (that lights the night) that it burns and ingest light.
After this citation it was discovered by the modern scientists that stars are the heavenly bodies that produces light by its own as Sun does.
And coming to the planets, it’s been mentioned as kawkab that are celestial bodies which reflects light and couldn’t able to generate light on their own like Sun.
This has been clearly stated in Qur’an as,
“We have adorned the lowest heaven with ornaments, the planets.”Qur’an, 37:6
In this contemporary world the protocols that governs the celestial systems are very transparent which states that galaxies are being balanced by the stars and the planets in a clearly described orbits. Which has been distinctly mentioned in Qur’an long long time ago in chapter al-Ambiyaa as,
“(God is) the one who created the night, the day, the sun and the moon. Each one is traveling in an orbit with its own motion.” Qur’an,21:33
An Arabic word that defines this movement is a verb yasbahoon that implicit on motion initiated by a moving body using its own legs on the ground or in water.
Unlike earlier situations the verses in holy Qur’an that cites water cycles are totally self-evident now-a-days.
The chapter az-Zumar convey’s fruitful information about water bodies as,
“Have you not seen that Allah sent rain down from the sky and caused it to penetrate the ground and come forth as springs, then He caused crops of different colors to grow…” Qur’an,39:21
These words are very straight forward to us today, whereas in olden days several myths existed on how water bodies are generated.
In the middle of sixteenth century, Bernard Palissy’s research gave logical reasoning on origin on water bodies. Adding to these many concepts evolved time to time stating different reasons on water cycle.
During nineteenth century Aristotle’s theory derived that water is being condensed in cool mountains, later which formed as under lakes. But today everyone accepts Qur’an’s quote that it is nothing but rain water infiltration which is cause for ground water existence.
The present day scientists discovered that phenomenon of folding formed the mountain ranges.
Actually the earth’s crust is in the form of solid shell, having the hot layer beneath thus not suitable for any life to survive.
With this modern thought let us now correlate the same with below Qur’an verse
“Have We not made the earth an expanse and the mountains stakes?” Qur’an, 78:6-7
A strong foundation for geological folds is none other than the stakes (awtaad), that are driven through the ground. This modern knowledge in-line with Qur’an’s standing towards formation of mountains.
Along with other mesmerizing verses in Qur’an statements related to animals and vegetable’s cycle and reproduction are really stunning. There are lot more valuable quotes shared on this topic, and best among them is
“Do the unbelievers not realize that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then I clove them asunder and I made every living thing out of water. Will they still not believe?” Qur’an, 21:30
It took years for the modern scientists to conclude that what could be the real origin of life in living land. At one point all myths came to an end saying the emergence of life is aquatic which has been understandably revealed in Qur’an.
Understanding plants in ancient times were crucial even during Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) due to lack of knowledge advancement in any country that they no one knows that both male and female organs exists in plants.
This has been specified audibly in chapter Taa Haa:
“(God is the One who) sent down rain from the sky and with it brought forth a variety of plants in pairs.” Qur’an, 20:53
Abiding to this quote we can see that fruits are produced by plants with sexual behaviours. Whereas fruits like bananas grow in unfertilized flowers.
This fact has been mentioned multiple times as seen in another chapter ar-Ra‘d
“… and of all fruits (God) placed (on the earth) two pairs.” Qur’an, 13:3
In Qur’an the milk-productive mammary glands are explained crystal clear as,
“Verily, in cattle there is a lesson for yon. I give you drink from their insides, coming from a conjunction between the digested contents ( of the intestines ) and the blood, milk pure and pleasant for those who drink it.” Qur’an, 16:66
The comprehension for above verse is that constituent in milk secretion through mammary glands are being fed by the food digestion brought by bloodstream. The intestine and blood concurrence triggered at intestinal wall lead to this event.
This exact idea is the outcome of invention in chemistry & physiology in digestive system that was made thousand years after Prophet Muhammed (PBUH)
In chapter al-Insaan Qur’an cites,
“Verily, I created humankind from a small quantity of mingled fluids.” Qur’an, 76:2
This ensures the fact that limitless quantity of generated fluid is needed for fertilization.
The actual word that used to represent a small quantity is “nutfah”. Hence the verse concludes that fertilization is possible through a small quantity of fluid/liquid.
In other places the small quantity is mentioned as “amshaaj” which refered as mingled fluids as derived by early
commentators which concluded as combination of male & female discharges. Later by modern authors it was commented that the tiny fluid compressed of several components.
When Qur’an speaks about the fertilizing fluid, it also says that human progeny is the formation of something distilled from the fluid. Following verse explains it thoroughly,
“Then He made [ man’s ] offspring from the essence of a despised fluid.”Qur’an, 32:8
The Arabic synonyms for “essence” is that “something extracted, best part of a thing”. Which concludes that only one single cell out of 50 million that actually reaches the ovule.
The growth of an embryo in a maternal uterus is explained thoroughly in chapter al-Mu’minoon,
“I fashioned the clinging entity into a chewed lump of flesh and I fashioned the chewed flesh into bones and I clothed the bones with intact flesh.” Qur’an, 23:14
The term “Mudghah” referred as chewed flesh represents the appearance of embryo in a stage in its development cycle.
It is continued saying that the bone it is which developed at first then it is covered with muscle. Which is denoted with
the arabic word “lahm” known as intact flesh.
The verse in chapter al-Hajj states that the embryo goes through different stages until it gets a real formation of its own,
“I fashioned (humans) a clinging entity, then into a lump of flesh in proportion and out of proportion.” Qur’an, 22:5.
A part of this embryo process has been cited in different places, as here it is referred with senses and internal organs in chapter as-Sajdah:
“… and (God) gave you ears, eyes and hearts.” Qur’an, 32:9
Especially in this process of embryo formation till a full formed baby creation no contradicts can be seen with today’s data also no idea is mistaken. Though there were too many myths that survived around the human formation for very long centuries a funadamental statement revealed by Harvey that correlate with Qur’an stating the every life begins from an egg.
