The growth of an embryo in a maternal uterus is explained thoroughly in chapter al-Mu’minoon,

“I fashioned the clinging entity into a chewed lump of flesh and I fashioned the chewed flesh into bones and I clothed the bones with intact flesh.” Qur’an, 23:14

The term “Mudghah” referred as chewed flesh represents the appearance of embryo in a stage in its development cycle.

It is continued saying that the bone it is which developed at first then it is covered with muscle.
