emotionally and socially

How can a small gesture have a big impact emotionally and socially?

Have you ever lightened up someone’s day with your simple smile? The ordinary smile that we inattentively do in our day might have a great impact in various ways around us. Let’s look through some of the impacts that have positive effects.

Smiling is the universal language that breaks the barrier and improves the quality of communication without words. Smiling is contagious, when we smile at others, they immediately respond with a smile which makes our day, and this creates an intense social bonding. Have you experienced it?

The exchange of smiles can develop social interaction, strengthen relationships, and create a pleasant atmosphere.

‘’And if you smile in the face of your brother, then that is a form of charity’’ These lines encourage us to smile and explain that smiling is a form of charity and relates to the Quranic verse which says;

{So he Sulaiman smiled, amused at her speech}

HOW DOES SMILE AFFECT OUR EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING?

The emotional impact of smiling not only influences our feelings but also helps those around us. Our body releases hormones such as dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins that make you feel good when you smile. The release of these hormones can instantly brighten your mood and reduce your stress levels.

Facial expression and body language have a greater effect on emotional impact. When we smile, we don’t just convey a smile; we also give positivity through our facial muscles, and our body language reflects this emotion.

The emotional impact of smiling goes beyond the physical act, it acts as one’s mood enhancement, brightens one’s day, improves emotional well-being, and helps in stress reduction.

WHAT ARE THE PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPACT?

The psychological well-being of smiling is immense. A smile on the face makes our brain believe that we are happy. The secretion of hormones while we smile triggers a spread of positive psychological effects, not only the smile, but the reactions to our smile also play an important role. A person who smiles is regarded as happy, confident, and trustworthy. Therefore, we get even better confidence and become better people. Our mental health will improve due to less stress response and lack of confidence.

The psychological impact of smiling influences not only our mental state but also how we are perceived by others and creates positive psychology. So let’s utilize the power of our smiles in our daily lives.

HOW CAN WE SOCIALLY COMMUNICATE WITH SMILE?

  • A smile is the first impression that holds a remarkable social interaction, it shows kindness and builds connection within people.
  • A smile is the very first gesture when meeting a person and tells so much about a person that binds public relations among them.
  • A smile creates a positive atmosphere socially. It creates nonverbal communication and a good vibe around people.
  • A smile can lead to a chain reaction of positivity, which helps build meaningful social bonding and friendships.
  • A smile is a powerful force that uplifts spirits and creates a sense of unity and trust-building among people. So let’s spread the magic of smiles and goodwill as social signals in our community engagement.

SMILE NO MATTER WHAT

When you get sad about worldly matters, but your situation doesn’t get any better because of your worries. For example; if you got a wound on your leg and couldn’t walk, would you still worry and be sad after a week? Obviously not! You motivate yourself to get up and show a positive attitude through your smile. You failed a test, are you gonna be sad? If yes, until when? Just take a breath, smile, and move on. Do not be sad about the temporary failure while you have a permanent success ahead. Life always has a second chance to change bad luck to good luck or teach you a lesson to do better.

  “The holy Quran was stated in surah Abasa verses 38-39 about the laughter and rejoicing of the people of heaven in the hereafter. Almighty Allah said,

[On that Day some faces will be bright, laughing and rejoicing}
